Well, I can only assume you are missing something. I mean in your pic above...the 4 pin to the left...looks like it will fit the 4 pin on the motherboard.


/e best advice I can give is use the manuals that came with the motherboard and that came with the power supply.

yeah well yes it fits the 4pin socket.

and yeah the 8 pin fits the 8 pin socket

both over my cpu.

but where do I connect it to the psu?

I dunno...the pic you posted only shows part of the power supply connectors.


/e There is a EATX12V_1 (8 pin)and EATX12V_2 (4 pin) on the motherboard and a CPU1 and a CPU2 on the power supply. I would use that as a guide.

Match the 1 on the motherboard with the 1 on the power supply...etc.

I have a question, the ONLY way i can plug something into my 8pin on the motherboard over my cpu is by plugging only one half of the 2x 4 pins... the other half dosent fit.

The pic in post #15...the 8 pin on the right will fit the 8 pin in the motherboard.

yeah but the other end is a 2x 4 pin connector that doesnt fit the PSU.

look thats how it looks if i fit the 2 8pin on the psu then I'm left with 4x 4pins connectors. 1 that fits the 4 pin on the mobo and the rest...?

what if i plug 1 cable 8 pin to psu to the 4 pin on mobo.

then i plug the 8pin on the mobo. where should i plug this one into the psu if i'm left with 2x 4 pins?

I dunno. I guess there is the off chance they sent a "wrong cable" but I doubt it.

I think they sent 2x the same CPU cable yes. but also in the psu manual it says that it includes 2 of those cables. its not missing any cable.. just that i think the psu is not compatible with my motherboard.

Your manual sez you can JUST use the 8 pin connector. You don't NEED to use the 4 pin connector, too.

all i can think of the possibilities is that that 8 pin connector on the motherboard can not be fully connected and just have a 4 pin in it. but that doesnt make sense to me.

so either I plug it in the psu or i plug it in the motherboard.

but it's not 8pin to 8 pin its 8 pin to 2x 4 pins. and those 2x 4 pins dont fit either the psu or the 8pin on the motherboard it fits only the 4pin on the mother board.

check this picture you should really understand what i mean, it seems impossible to reliate the psu to the 8pin on the motherboard.
