If you plan on upgrading, I would just save up for an Intel mobo, Intel CPU and DDR4 RAM.

and i7 out performs the best amd cpu? huge price gap

i7 or i5...both outperform AMDs best CPU.

Well it doesn't count unless run on Extreme HD. But, I see your monitor is only 1600x900 ...so maybe that is the reason.
