theres one game but havent looked into fallout 4 benchbenches, but I do know it can cause stuttering just like it always has when the threads are offloaded to the weaker ones

yes. thats the well known downside of hyperthreading, and why it is not beneficial on quad cores for current games.
But when you lack threads, because you only have a dual core processor or you are running multiple games at the same time the benefit of the extra threads outweight the downsides.

yes but have you tried playing d3 with ht on? havent played for awhile but ht gave stuttering issues just on 1 instance with 2600k or 4770k, had to disable then later uninstalled that crap game

you still think its a thread thing when its a per game coding thing, hence why games like bf4, fo4, and few others will do ok with it

Star Citizen is written to take advantage of every possible thread.

Also, with maulepan and his Google copy paste he contradicts himself. As yupitsmeh has pointed out, Diablo 3 was never written to use HT. It's not even optimized for multi core. So explain how if it's not even written to use these things effectively how OP would benefit from an I7? I'm just curious to your response because I don't see any gains in Diablo 3 over an I5.

Also just out of curiosity what is your own build?
