That's really useful! thanks.

Here's to throw another stick into this pile of fun:

My buddy has an r9 270 gpu sitting around, It's obviously extremely better than my current one, is it possible to build a solid setup around that?

You could just get the A10-7870 build and put that vid card in also. THAT would beat the snot out the other builds. :)

/e You'll have a whole new comp, and won't have to take anything out of the other comp, for emergencies. :)

what do you have with your A10 cpu's ?? they simply perform terrible. Even the 10$ cheaper i3 6100 kicks its ass. http://www.technikaffe.de/cpu_vergleich-intel_core_i3_6100-556-vs-amd_a10_7870k-549

Core count and clock speed is no indicater of how good a cpu is. Intel cpu's have much more IPC and use a faster and more efficiant cache system.

EDIT: ups.. sorry i linked the german website. Here is the english equivalent: http://www.cpu-monkey.com/en/compare_cpu-amd_a10_7870k-549-vs-intel_core_i3_6100-556

Got nuthin against Intels..except in a $500 build...the A10 is 4 core compared to two core, integrated grfx is faster, bigger cache and OC's easy as hell.

Plus with the money I saved I could get him a complete comp, so now he has two complete comps. And with the spare R9 270 it'll be a faster comp

No, he already has a working comp....complete. He also has a spare R9 270.

Why take half of one comp when he could have two full comps. All he needs to do is get this: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/t2CdsY ...add the R9 270, and he will have two complete comps.

With the A10-7870 and the R9 270 it will smoke the half builds others have made.

As for the Intel vs. the AMD A10 -7870 specs, I got them right from your German? link. LOL

The A10 -7870 has great reviews.

Because when you half of one and buy some new parts you will end up with a MUCH better computer. And to be honnest. Noone needs 2 computers.

Also... i did not post the link to show you the specs. This side lists the most commen benchmarks. there you can see that the A10 besides having higher clock speed and more core performs about 40% worse then the cheaper i3 6100

Yeah no one ever has other family members or days when one computer goes down for w/e reason.

http://www.cpu-world.com/Compare/444/AMD_A10-Series_A10-7850K_vs_Intel_Core_i3_i3-6100.html

/e But if budget wasn't an option...then this:

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/T8bMjX

/ee Also remember that none of those 6100 builds could be made on budget, with out more or less tossing away another computers working parts.

yeah i realize that you could slap the R9 270 in the 6100 build, but you're still destroying one working comp to make another.

I am not even talking about any build. The thing that i am trying to explain you is that there is no use for a A10 7850k in a gaming computer. Does not matter which build. The i3 6100 is strictly better for gaming. It is slighly cheaper, and is about 40% faster. iGPU does not matter since your using a dedicated grafics card for gaming anyway. So simply forget the A10 7850k for gaming computers unless AMD drasticly reduced the price.

Yo...you make your builds...I'll make mine. It ain't a question of my dog, is bigger than your dog...it a question of what gets the OP the needed, and most results.
