based off of a build i did for someone else.. modified it a bit, your 970 is there, along with a i5 6600, however no theme, and mini computer..

That's 1.5V memory that's not suported by Skylake. So, you would have to drop voltage to 1.35V which would cause issues.

Also, that Rosewill case and PSU is garbage.

its supported according to motherboard specs along with asus site/other stes.. ram has to be set in bios (OC setting, to hit 1866)

case/psu, after looking into rosewill again after years since ive used their product, i do have to agree junk.. changed them out, also didnt realise i missed a vid card while looking around earlier.. changed vid as well.. http://pcpartpicker.com/p/smkZ6h

I'm not 100% sure but according to Intel undervolting memory causes stability issues. Also it might not hit the XMP profile at 1.35V

If you want your computer exclusivly for gaming, then i would recommend not to spend to much money on it now.
I dont know the resolution of your monitor, but if it is a 1080p one then this setup will run all current games. http://pcpartpicker.com/p/GsjdK8
Base Total: $1039.72
Promo Discounts: -$10.00
Mail-in Rebates: -$40.00

With the money you saved you can buy a new grafics card in 2-3 years. That mostly gives you better value for your money then blowing all your money today.

EDIT:

Just saw his post. Thats also a good setup. Mostly the same, just with a more expensive motherboard and ram. But cheaper case. I think it also a viable option.

Sadly outdated, price went up like 100
But OP doesn't seem like he wants 390 so it doesn't matter

gtx 970 costs the same, so you can easily switch. but the R9 390 performs slightly better and is due to its huge VRAM a little more future proofed, even tho i know that it will never utilise all 8gb.
