Its a heatsink, Not a radiator.

Radiator = water

I've been talking about getting the water cooling for so long my language is compromised lol

Edit: So Tigerdirect closed all of its stores in florida. I don't have anywhere to fix this quickly except maybe bestbuy. I know they sell video cards but I'm not sure how much they sell other than that. I miss living so close to Microcenter in Philly =(

did you change these parts with the case sitting on your carpet? and does your case sit on your carpet when running? looking at your psu; the intake inlet is sucked through the bottom of the tower? my assumption is that it was running hard with static buildup and inproper airflow for so long that when it didnt have to work as hard it popped

Shitty psu I understand, even though it has lasted 3 years. However it was completely cooled off while I was working on the fans, and what is wrong with the fan configuration?

By fan configuration I mean, I don't believe the radiator can be flipped to face the back of the case on this mobo. I may be wrong but I believe it only fit one way.

i would dare to say any type of after market air cooler should be configured in a way where you can face it to blow out the back.. not all cases have vents on the top so that would be extremely poor design otherwise

as long as you have your fan setup to push through the cooler out the top it should be alright.... first glance I was thinking you had it blowing down at the gpu.. lol

Who knows, would have to be physically be there to see how u installed it. Maybe you over tightened the 4 screws, without tightening opposite corners little by little, maybe you put too much or too little thermal paste, maybe the heatsink isn't flush/flat with the cpu chip for proper heat exchange etc.

Position of the cpu fan is not ideal, but it shdnt be the main reason Ur psu blew up, even tho it's the last thing u did different before. I think the reasons above caused Ur cpu to stress, and made Ur psu stress too much.

It's kinda miracle Ur psu didn't blow up sooner when running 8350 with 980ti tho @load w/80c+ temps, cuz that shd easily pull 400+ with Ur entire build, and Ur psu is ~70%efficient, which puts u at 400ish w/ 3yr of use which can be even less than that.

Just make sure u get a good psu, manage Ur wires for better airflow and hope all is good. Though like Ghot said mobo might ded

So bestbuy doesn't carry that seasonic psu. What should I get that bestbuy carries that will also be able to power water cooling in the future?

is bestbuy your only option? cant wait? or cant order from online? if its a cc/paypal issue, get a prepaid visa/mc and then order online... online/delivery is by FAR cheaper than bestbuy.. its just waiting 3-5 business days...
