I have my laptop for sale.
It's a alienware m17x r4

Has i7 and gtx 660m
Can always upgrade to a 980m.

It's a beast laptop and I play h1z1 with 60 fps
And older games at max.

I'm selling it for under your budget. Pm me

I really appreciate the offer. I will consider but I do not see myself buying this right now.
I don't want another 9-10 pound laptop right now. I'd like to be able to be more mobile

Can possibly get this for around $700 for being the floor modeler.

No SSD though is a bummer. Thoughts

I am indecisive. Lets face it lol. But with your help, I've narrowed it down.

I've been debating between these two.

Are there better values available for each price range?
SSD+HDD and good chips. 950 vs 960 but I really only play older games from childhood (d2/FFXI).

I'm sure you guys can understand the want to have the better GPU even if it's unnecessary. I guess I just enjoy knowing that my machine could do something if I wanted it to... Ahhh decisions.

I'm certainly open to any refurb/open box deal if they are out there and better value

I am hunting also.

I bought a Axer with i7 5500u2 and a 4gb Nvidia 640M and am returning it.

The 640m is not enough for me

its not just the grafics card. Also the 2.9GHz dual core processor is terrible for gaming. You should really go with a Quadcore processor if you want to play games.

You have to look at single core performance. Doesn't matter if you have 2,4,6 or 8 core if single core performance is crappy.

Most games only run on 1 core there's not many that require more.

thats non sense. maybe Diablo II runs single threaded. Recent games use 4 or more threads. - ofcourse deminishing returns apply.
Some games, like far cry 4, wont even start if you have less then 4 threads avalible.

I know I am probably bugging the crap out of everyone w this thread by now :(

I am still hunting.

Are there better buys at this price point ballpark? Anything near it would be fine if a little more was justified.

Ghot linked me to an MSI once upon a time but I lost the link :(

Someone show me value and performance! :D
A 950m would probably be fine too if you thought it was a good buy
