I don't appear to have control of any fan on the computer, including the gpu fans. The computer never throttles fan speed, not sure how I missed it. I should have realized this already. They stay at a constant speed regardless of load. Reminds me, there was a time when I'd start a game and the computer would immediately start getting louder. I'm assuming it's a motherboard issue? I don't know anymore, about to sell this whole thing and start from scratch. Overall it doesn't appear to be effecting gaming too much, except for what occasionally looks like throttling but could be a rendering issue due to ark's poor EA optimization.

Idle temperatures are still high, 60-75, varying. Push/Pull on fans is correctly set up. Cool air is brought through the top and the side by the large fan and expelled at the rear.

Mai afterburner would at least let you control the gpu fan speed

Ohhhh yesss. I haven't heard this sound from my computer in a very, very long time. Thank you sir. But why!?!?

GPU Sub 60 for the first time in a long time at 49C and dropping. Ty ^_^

Why would the computer lose all ability to monitor its own fan speeds if nothings changed?

You can control the CPU fan speed via settings in the BIOS. Usually found on the Hardware or Hardware Monitor tab.

...and dude, you need a decent case. Check out the Fractal Design Define R4 or R5 :)

/e Oh, and don't use Speed fan anymore. It never worked well, and lately works much worse. :)

Yeah I know, I was given this one for free =P. I just rebuilt into the case, I don't feel like redoing everything again unless I'm replacing more than just the case. Although it appears I may be doing that. I shouldn't have to have MSI Afterburner running gpu, and I already checked BIOS. Everything is at default.

/e Generally cases with large or small side fans tend to screw up the case air flow, more than they help it.
Case air flow should go from front/bottom (intake), to top/rear (exhaust).

If you have a case with a side fan, it's best to run it at very low rpm, so it does not disrupt the normal case airflow. [front/bottom (intake), to top/rear (exhaust)]

/ee I'm running the same CPU and a much hotter vid card than you are...granted I'm also running the Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO CPU cooler (approx. ~$30)

Idle temps:

/e ...and you don't need to run Prime95 to stress test your CPU. You can also use Aida64 Extreme which is a milder stress test and more like what you will experience in game play.
