Sorry didn't completely read your post.

Black Friday deals have been getting better every year. I think he'll be possible to buy good quality core components.

You've made a nice build, but it is not optimal for his situation.

Right now, ~$330 cpu, ~$150, motherboard, ~$60 ddr4 8gb ram. There may be a good bundle deal. That's what you should look out for.

so thats like 650CAD for cpu motherboard and ram

that leave me around 400$ for GPU + case + PSU + whatever else i need (oh yeah i need a windows copy unless i can use the one from my laptop... but i doubt it )

if i do that ill prolly get like a used GPU that i can get for cheap somewhere then when i get more $ upgrade and buy a nice brand new gpu ^^

i bet i can get really good deals on used GPUs from someone that just upgraded to a 980 ti for exemple ^^

Not sure how you concluded with $650. Anyway, I've seen a bundle (cpu, mobo, ram) for ~$450.

well youre always talking of USD right? 520usd is like 650cad ^^

just like 450 usd is like 580cad :(

my budget was in canadian dollars to begin with :)

right now i think CAD to usd is like 0.77 or something 1$ CAD = +-77cents us

we used to have parity and for a few months we were even over you guys (i think we reached like 1.15usd= 1$ CAD in around 2008-2009 in ur recession but a few years after we went back down under your value)

and now our dollar has shit value for some reasons... i don't remember it being so low since i was a kid (im 23)

I haven't mentioned USD in my posts. CAD should be assumed as you are buying from the Canadian market.

That's what we're hoping for. If anything, you'll find an i5+mobo combo at least. Plus, the other parts will have some sort of discount.

The main components I'm thinking of are: i5, r9 380/GTX 960 gpu (or a really nice deal on a r9 390/GTX 970), 500w bronze (maybe gold) psu.

I did some research for PoE, and it seems that PoE is still not optimized. PoE can get demanding when you're in a full party and everyone using their skills simultaneously. Early you mentioned, you won't mind playing other games on medium. I think the GTX 960 will be sufficient for you.

edit. Here's a visual to have an idea where the 960 compares to other video cards on PoE

probably should be fine ^^ i mean

http://www.geforce.com/hardware/desktop-gpus/geforce-gtx-960/specifications

http://www.geforce.com/hardware/desktop-gpus/geforce-gtx-970/specifications

theres a huge difference in performance between the 2 isnt it? like 640 cuda core difference 35 texture fill rate difference and one has 2gb and the other is 4gb

doesnt that mean that the 970 is atleast 50% stronger than the 960?

i also dont really play poe in full parties, i play solo or in party of 2 or 3 max the problem is that some skills are WAY MORE cpu/gpu demanding, for exemple the last build that i tried to do was worst than moljnir build ( molnjir is a well known laggy build, like cast on crit etc because it can spam spells that fill half the screen with texture many times per seconds)

the build i was going for ( that my laptop litterally become a diaporama when i try to play it) is spamming 'vaal molten shell' every 0.07seconds... my fps drops to like 1-5fps lmfao.

as i said theres 2 way i would go with my gpu ( cause i already want the CPU and motherboard to be really good)

either i get a cheap temporary gpu and wait a few months to get a better one (were talking 2-4months) or i go straight for one i wont feel the need to change for years ^^

if my budget is slightly busted but it get me a 970 gtx i might accept to bust it a bit... i don't even know the price difference between them to begin with

also i would prolly not overclock anything as it reduce the life of the component right? would i need to buy extra cooling system or fans or the 'stock' ones that come with cpu/motherboard/gpu be enought if i dont overclock etc?
