The reason he asked, Is to know if you want a pure gaming monitor, Or a IPS gaming monitor, Or if you needed a color accurate monitor & or Adobe SRGB color spectrum for Photoshop/3d modeling /etc.

You've probably missheard how refresh rates help. Is it going to make you a pro gamer? No. Does it add a shit ton of fluidity to everything you play? Yes.

120hz+ Is so smooth for pretty much anything you play, Plus reduces blur.

That's the part I don't get...

No matter how fast the action in a movie, I see no motion blur on 60Hz, on my monitor or my TV.
Gaming, it may be different. But until they release a decent game (by my standards), to test with, well I can't personally comment.

I still think it has a lot to do with the EYES of the person watching.

i dont buy that refresh rate bs unless its on a professional level where they are local area net works and lag isnt an issue. No monitors refresh rate is going to give someone a competitive edge, its all marketing bs! but thanks you

are you playing fps?

60hz is ok for every other game but fps, where you better play with 120+

No I did see a video on Youtube, where they were filming very fast action at normal rates and then at rates up to 130,000 fps. THERE I could tell the difference.

@ OP, here is a link to all the 60Hz vs. 120 and 144Hz comparisons. I still see no difference, but you may.

I did edit my last post 2 more times with more info.

Have you actually tried a 120hz monitor @ 120hz?

Since its recorded at 24fps, Holywood actually blurs each frame together, so it doesnt look stuttery. I think if you saw both, You'd be able to tell the difference & start noticing blur/etc.

Also, Go turn on a soap opera on tv. The show looks like it was filmed ... Fake?
Thats because unline traditional TV/Movies that are recorded at 24fps, Soap opera shows are recorded at 48fps.
Unfortunately people associate the fakeness of the soap, With the doubled framerate.

I actually enjoy the 144hz refresh on racing games, and top view scrolling games like league.

Makes them silky smooth :)

Go back to page #2 & read the rest of the post. Thats not how 120hz monitors work.

You have a 60hz monitor... Why in the hell would you be able to notice a difference of 60-120-144hz on a 60hz monitor ~_~

No but when I was buying my TV, I got to look at the same content on 60Hz and 120Hz and 600Hz TV's. To be honest, they all looked the same to me.

So I ended up picking the one that looked the sharpest to me, and had the truest color as I perceive color.

/e Maybe I just have faster optic nerves.
