Tbh i wouldnt really recommend changing from a 4690k to skylake, not worth the full re build cost.


But if you're going to build a new pc, Why not wait a few weeks for skylake.

Last i saw they're estimating it to be about 20-30% faster than 4690k, At stock clocks.

saw that too, it's like 29% faster than 4790k cos igpu made a huge difference.
but when compared to each other using 970, it gave worse results. I take these "leaked" news like a grain of salt, but either way
if i was looking for a build ASAP, I would've just saved ~$500, and not torture myself for 1month+ since both CPU's are gonna last a long ass time & the gap isn't a game changer.
though i do agree, getting latest tech is always better ofc.

The benchmarks i saw didnt have an IGPU test, Just the 970 i thought.

Besides its usually like 10-15%~ increase between generations & skylake is two gens ahead of 4690k
