Stay with my build and let them post whatever they want.. the motherboard is allright and Intel's current i5 and most likely future i5s do not even need to be overclocked (so no need for a Z97 board) to be faster than any current AMD CPU when used for gaming, surfing and office stuff. Asrock and their motherbaords btw don't lack a single bit in quality compared to other manufacturers. Same goes for all the other parts... there's not a single part that will lack the quality to be used in such a system... not at all.

I already explained how to find out which games could benefit from an SSD and 256 GB is definitely enough for Skyrim and some additional favorites.

The only thing you may want to think about is getting a cooler later... i5 with stock cooling will run just fine, but I think it's too loud and you can fit the cooler into your budget... so why not?
Same goes for the GPU... why not get an R9 290 (about equal performance as a GTX 970 in most games) if you can currently afford it?

rapture was kind enough to put this build together for me

decided to go with a little bit less because i dont play any hardcore games and more or less just want to be able to multitask better without lag using pandora/itunes/ etc

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/HddfCJ

anyway it says their is possibly a comptability issue with the cpu/motherboard

i want to make sure that they will be compatible out of the box, because i dont know how to update the bios without having the PC put together

change power supply to better quality @ same price

what's your budget anyways.. 1k? 800? 500? lol

It was ~800. Now OP wants to cut a bit... go with an R9 280 then... should still be good. But KEEP the SSD! 256GB for 99$ is simply good and once you have one and notice the difference (which will be clearly visible when playing Skyrim /w mods for example), you'll never want to live wihtout one again ;)

Yeah sorry, my mustang needs a few parts cant ignore her (and i should be saving for an engagement ring) decied i dont use my pc enough to justify spending 800 dollars just on the build without monitor/desk etc

Took one of the builds posted here and added my own pieces.

Just so the rest of you know, the ASRock A88X Pro3+ sucks. There's a nice pile of returned ones at my Micro Center waiting to be sent back. If you're going to recommend anything for the FM2+ socket, find something with heatsinked VRMs.
