Yeah I remember how many good years I got out of my old amd gaming rig, bought it all for like 700 bucks and it still runs shit pretty decent.
Sold it six months ago for 300 dollars, lol. It was like an amd triple core phenom II that I had unlocked and overclocked to 3 ghz on an asus motherboard.
I'll probably be back looking for more advice then. The mini-itx board seems to have limitations but making space for a large desktop every time I have to move is too difficult.

I might get a raspberry pi kit and duct tape it to the back of this old monitor for a ghetto portable desktop/media center in the meantime. With the price of sd cards (unbelievably low per gigabyte) it's practically viable storage nowadays.
