That's worrying then. Idling I'm fine, but with Prime95 I was over 95C so I stopped it.

You're not supposed to run Prime95 on an Ivy Bridge CPU.

Instead use wPrime or AIDA64 Extreme.

What exactly should I be looking to test with AIDA, then?

Edit: Update with further info

I took out the GPU and tried turning it on with on board graphics, it went on. I decided to try with the GPU to see if that was the problem.

I put GPU back in and it wouldn't turn on.

I took GPU back out and tried on board graphics. It's not turning on again now.

previously when it was shutting off were you able to restart it immediately and have it run for an extended period again? if it was shutting down again fairly soon its possible the cpu cooler isn't on tight or the thermal paste may need to be reapplied

yep, i would check your CPU cooler. Take it out, remove old paste, put on a new one, then make sure it's perfectly fit.
Then see if GPU is the problem or not.
I had a similar problem a long time ago, but i forgot how i fixed it :( sry i can't remember what i did

I think it's the psu, not supplying enough power to the gpu but enough to everything else.
Honestly you wont know until you replace the parts and see what works and what doesnt.

Since you bought it so recent you can simply just exchange both products for new ones?
