Well.. normally don't do builds anymore but since you pm'd : |

For 500-600 budget. It's hard to beat this rig. $576.12 after rebates, including shipping.

You suggest he buys a dead/dying socket limiting future upgrades; and potentially giving him a massive bill when he decides to move up?

The 245/250 clock extremely well.

I lol'd, Eeks build includes a better PSU and a GPU and a quad core

Honestly.. i would do this build alot different if i had read the OP carefully. Just now noticed it was for home use and not gaming. But TBH, my rig is very balanced.

anoyne who buys a computer to "future proof" is a idiot in the first place. usually by the time u upgrade the mother boards bios wont support newer cpu anyways so u need to buy a new motherboard even if the cpus are still uisng the same socket.

I lol'd irl.

I guess my AM2+ with Bios to support the AM3 supports (all of them) was a waste of money.

BRB getting a Hammer to smash it repeatedly.

True say, but the quad would be more balanced for mass mult-tasking, its just you dumped more money into GPU than he did (not than others)

I've been building pcs for a long time. While it is true in some instances. But no.

I have a 8 years old? Asus commando sitting in front me me. I can easily drop a Q9650 in it if i wished.

if u buy a am2 cpu then a am3 cpu shortly after ur just blowing money out the ass and its really not worth the upgrade in the first place. so yah ur being really inefficient and wasting moeny.

I have an X2 5200+ which gets smashed by an X2 7750 which gets smashed by an X2 250 which gets smashed by an X2 500 series CPU.

See the chain?

My X2 5200+ actually bottlenecks some of my games (CPU based games obviously)

I spent ~70 on my CPU and if I spent another ~70 I could see as much as a 30% increase in some games.

ok but the nf4 motherboards that were for pentium d's mainly dont support core2's.. so u might of got luckey. but thats not always the case. and plus the commando came out pretty late. that came out with the 975x chipsets or w/e so its def not 8 years old.

and 1 x e6300 clocked at 1600fsb will smash all those. plus never mind the i3 that just came out for 120$. now amd needs more price slashes to even stay competitive.

That's a issue with the chipset maker.

Nvidia is stepping out of the game in their chipset department.
