I expect to pay a premium for it but I guess I wasnt super clear with what I meant. My expectation when searching for a GPU was paying 900 for a 3070 ti TBH but seems like that won't happen.
Newegg has a literal lottery you can enter to get a 3070 ti at true retail (599.99).
Other then that they have scalper prices yes. But i was pointing out that they do sell cards at true retail. Not that I was expecting to get one for 599.99.
Buddy got a RTX 3080 at true retail from Best Buy last week after waiting 2 months. There's a program Best Buy offers to get on a waiting list for computer parts which includes GPU's so I may just do that. Wanted to try and avoid spending 200 bucks to enter the program though.
I got a phone call 3 weeks ago, a local retailer got an EVGA 3080Ti in for $1299 and just didn't have the money at that moment so had to say no. haha.
If you have the money, buy the BestBuy membership instead of Amazon Prime. Nvidia sells all their FE's through BestBuy every 2nd Tu or Th. Especially if the membership allows you to buy 2 GPUs. Then you can buy two at MSRP and flip one for scalper prices. That'll make the GPU you bought free. When I have a chunk of money again, that's exactly what I'll do.
