Cause it's OLD. It just doesn't have the oomph to keep up with the new GPUs.

Sort of like a 20 year old girl and a 50 year old man. The girl will have to slow down, so the man can keep up. :D

Just Google: Intel 2500K and RTX 2060 Super, bottleneck

Can't I stick some blue pills in the cd drive and get some oomph?

Would it make sense to just OC the 2500k to 4.5+?

Or is the cpu just really that poop?

Again, I just want to play Destiny 2 without bogging down. Nothing more, nothing less.

I don't plan to play on the highest settings nor do I plan on/want to replace the mobo or cpu unless its absolutely necessary.

Yes, OCing the 2500K would help. But sooner or later you will need to upgrade everything. You can do it all at once (big $$), or do it half and half... (decent vid card now, and get the rest, later).

That's why I suggested the 1660 super. Low cost but faster than a RX 580. Best of all, you don't have to deal with the AMD vid card drivers.

Would OCing the 2500k make the 580 work any better/worse or would it not do anything?

Sorry for the newb questions.

OCing the 2500K would make it bottleneck... w/e new video card you buy... less.

So would it make sense to keep the gfx card I have and upgrade the cpu?

I'm so lost on what to do.

If you oc the 2500 your still going to have a slight bottle neck with the 580.
your only going to amplify this issue with a higher end card.
The higher you go the more it will appear.

Its like buying a lambo for city driving, only people with tiny dicks do it.

No buy the 580 or build a new system...
I can only assume you want to upgrade cause it's a cheap and viable option.

So buy 580
Get a cpu cooler and oc ur chip to 5.0ghz if u want more

2500k is the best Intel chip imo

I had it at 5.0 for 6 months after I bought the pc, but didn't feel like I was utilizing it, so I went back to stock.

I have an h100 that I might replace as the faceplate is starting to come off.

As King said, wouldn't OC'ing and using the 580 cause bottle necking? Not even sure what that is, but it doesn't sound safe.
