so call him a r word
16mill colors vs 1 billion

you only buy tn if you got 50bux
not 2500

It's the premise. Yeah we can shell out an extra 200 for this, but then why not put out 200 for the next thing, and the next, and so on. Then you're pushing 2500-3k

Ran some stuff through reddit buildapc discord and jesus christ it's a cesspool there.

Buddy wants to stick with the Benq I think.

Have to agree... with that budget, a TN panel is a sin. We may have to perform exorcism on your friend.

The one I picked is the lowest price 27", 1440p, 144Hz, IPS monitor, I could find.

...and my build is $13 cheaper. :)

Look at the diff between 1080p and 1440p...

/e Your friend will be able to see "orange" more bad guys.

Everything you do on the comp... you'll be using the monitor. Get one that's large and easy on the eyes. ^^

Alright.

It's been a while since I've built anything but in terms of Intel vs AMD, nothing has really changed?

Yeah... in the CPU world AMD has really gotten their shyt together. For gaming, Intel still rules the roost. But just barely.

And as for Windows 10... just get the key on ebay or similar... it's like $10, then use the media builder here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10

Just make sure the key matches the version of Win 10 that you want.

/e I'd also get the 9900K, it still fits your budget, and it has multi threading which the 9700K doesn't.

Don't think he will be multi-threading.

Get a 3700X or 3600 and put the money you saved in a better GPU or screen.

No reason whatsoever to go 8 cores / 8 threads with a 9700k when streaming is part of the requirements...

If you really want to spend all the money, shoot for a 3700X on a B450 board and add an RTX 2080ti.
