Games do not "lag" with a good GPU like that. I've already been over that (see above post).

"Ancient tech?" I highly doubt it'd even come close to lagging on League of Legends, World of WarCraft, StarCraft II, etc. all are very modern and kept up-to-date.

Hardware failure (CPU overheating and under-clocking itself, RAM failure, HDD head failing to read/write in one pass, etc) is pretty common.

That card is not a joke. It is a very decent piece of hardware.

These replies only lead me to believe the extreme lack of knowledge from the persons posting; no offense intended.

The OP has only ever declared a few things:

• i have a geforce gt 635 - and find that in some games i lag (OP assumes the GPU is to blame; Windows Update and a 0.1KB/s connection surely made my GPU lag!)
  
• i have i7 64bit system (OP states CPU manufacturer and a 64-bit OS; because having a 32-bit is actually faster: I doubt that's it)
  
• 16gb ram (OP states the quantity of RAM; omits the type! I'm sure 16GB of DDR non-DIMM would be super fast and definitely not a bottleneck)
  
• windows 8 (OP clearly stated his problem here and missed it!)
  
• 1.57TB free storage (OP states his medium storage's unused capacity; this definitely seems unrelated... Unless you have a dynamic pagefile set up and have 0 bytes of free space remaining: Almost meaningless. SSD? HHD? 5200 RPM? Easily a culprit)
