fans all depend on your case. if you have an enclosed case you will want case fans.
not all enclosures are built equally though.

I was figuring on that MX330 Cougar case, but i'm noticing it doesn't seem to have any pre-installed fans, might have to find a better case at that price point or pickup a cheap pack of fans then?
Edit; It does have a single rear pre-installed, might be able to work with that

If I go to 2x8gb ram is it still priority to go with 3kmhz? or can I option down to a 2666 set and still have better performance than a single 8gb 3kmhz?

edit: whoops you have ryzen 5, 3200 is the best.
RS is a bit memory heavy but i don't think OSRS would be so bad. 1 stick wouldn't have issues i'm sure. if you keep a lot of things open, i'd say otherwise. it would be priority to get a second stick though imo

the case is really on you, both are options

1 thing i'm reading about the ryzen 3,is that 3066mhz seems to be the cap stability of paired RAM. so if you're set on that CPU, 3k mhz is the most you'll get out of it. that might bring you down to budget 2 of them again.

Touching on a point of concern for me, I do namely play osrs but I do tend to keep a video player/netflix open as well as the occasional browser window, which is the main reason for purchase, as currently doing so causes massive stress - bad gameplay/stream

For those purposes is the 2x8gb with say 2666mhz a better option? or is the difference so minuscule between 2 stick with lower hz vs 1stick with higher hz?

@CPU, not set on this cpu, though the pricepoint is comfortable, would prefer something with more potential for developing.
The ATX Elite version of this MOBO is 20$ more, better potential there?
@case choice, alright i'll just go with whatever is pleasing on my eyes and wallet ofc.

Get the 240gb+ ssd which is more than enough for ur use (osrs, netflix/videos), u can get 1tb HDD later if u actually need it for storage (large video files etc.)
if u get HDD now, u have to go through hassle of re-installing ur windows onto SSD etc. to benefit

As for ram, as i said you'd want 3200 cuz ur utilizing ur igpu and its ryzen.
if u wanna get 2x8 from the start i'd get either of these

mobo form factor doesn't matter, by the time it's worth upgrading cpu, the mobo socket will be dead. Meaning, you will need new CPU/mobo later on. You can limit urself to the current mobo socket, but then that wouldn't be ideal price/performance wise.
also the aorus mobo is currently cheap, and it's like the highest model for their b450 so ur getting a good deal for it, usually it's Gigabyte B450M DS3H or asrock's pro4 around that price range

There is no better Ryzen CPU with built in graphics, u can still get a better CPU but then u'd need to spend extra on a dedicated GPU.

mx330 is the best quality case you're gonna get at that price point, other cases are usually more filmsy or just the quality of it will scream $10-20.
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/2g448d/antec-p7-window-red-atx-mid-tower-case-p7-window-red
is another option

also yes the keys are legit, just maek sure you buy from someone with high reviews to avoid scams. If it doesn't work which is slim, u can msg the seller or dispute with paypal/credit card over $5-10.
u need a flash drive to create a bootup, so instead of using a CD u just insert the flash drive instead.

SAMSUNG 860 EVO 250GB 3d NAND worth the extra bucks then you think?

Yea i'm moving back to the m-atx auros and the mx330 is a solid looking chassis, just price hunting on it now.

So far ive settled at;

CPU -AMD - Ryzen 5 2400G 3.6 GHz Quad-Core Processor
MOBO -Gigabyte - B450 AORUS M Micro ATX AM4 Motherboard
PSU -SeaSonic - EVO Edition 620 W 80+ Bronze Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply

Deciding on
Ballistix Sport AT 8gb ddr4 3200 mt/s ( Single stick for now )

@edit Thanks for addressing those concerns about the OS source, is creating the bootup flash difficult? ( I assume not )

real life experience, we're talking few second difference for the SSDs. I personally would spend the extra $10-20 for mx500 or samsung SSD as the amount doesn't mean much to me, and there's nothing you can make the build better by saving $10-20.
I guess you can spend that on a case fan instead? So it's really up to you.

Download the OS.iso file from microsoft website, make sure it's windows 10 PRO, 64 bit (also make sure the key you buy is for this version too)
use rufus or similar to create a bootdrive from the iso file.
