Reviews on several sites both newegg and amazon gave this board a big downgrade

this is my current selection feel free to add any input

If you're gonna spend that much on a board, at least get the MSI pro carbon... Asus is just throwing money away until you get to their crosshair/rampage boards.

As long as you do not plan on overclocking too hard, your motherboard choice should simply depend on the type and amount of different connectors/headers you plan to use + possible UEFI benefits or restrictions.

Literally ANY type of VRMs will do absolutely fine with any current stock CPU. 99% of considerations are basically a waste of time.

About your general choice:

What kinds of games do you usually play in which resolution and at which kinds of FPS? What's your current (or planned) GPU?

Literally took 11 years AND a lot of coincindences to get back the account info on this one. Had several recovery attempts fail before I got back the correct e-mail.

Put the other acc to rest after that.

Your initial RAM choice is fine.

As long as you won't overclock (or just mildly do), there's no reason to spend 160$ on a mainboard. You can easily keep the price under 100$ and get a low-end Z370 or a mid H370 board. You will NEVER notice a difference and it won't die on you either.
