I think he is saying...just wait. Or find some other way to get your fun. Yes you will be able to reuse it down the road, but unlike something like a vid card, an SSD has limits via write cycles.
Why waste the SSD for little to no gain.

Get a better vid card instead?

Yes I get it, but my 1066 gpu is enough for now, I'm not only wanting to do m2 for fun, but also the latency and response speed of it. My PCIEX4 slot is open so I wanted to explore a bit and have fun plus I could move it to new platform later or sell it second hand on local forums without much loss.

I guess mainly just having fun on the old platform

lol coming from someone who can't get consonants and vowels right, your intelligence is comparable to the like/dislike ratio of the incompetent video you shared.

the point is I want to do it, and I don't know which part is confusing you that I am doing this for fun.

obviously you don't know any better, so gtfo and stop your +1s and spams.

yea games doesnt load much faster with nvme - but if its a big game/map maybe 1-2 secs faster.. not much really

anyway if u really want this go ahead and try it i'd say, maybe buy the stuff some place where u can return it if it doesnt work

have plenty of places I can buy at lowest price and return it within 7 days for free, but I don't like being a shitty customer, so I wanted to see if I can find someone who has story or experience to share first, the problem is also I will be able to sell the m.2 nvme much faster and lose less money when the next gen stuff comes around (ddr5, cpu that's not lake and hopefully 10nm, PCIE4(supposedly within a year from now), I could go ahead and buy a sata but I would lose about the same money as I would on M.2 NVME, so I may as well use the better stuff and explore a little. (since M.2 NVME really loses only about 20% value in second hand market with usage time-span of 1~2years)

You're just feeding the troll at this point. He's right that you won't see any improvement in gaming performance over a traditional SSD, but if you just wanna do it for shits then buy that adapter I linked or one similar and go nuts.

u wanna get a nvme drive thats pcie 3.0 x4 like the samsung 970 evo since its the best value for money

but what worrys me is will this run on a pcie 2.0 board? it actually should since its backwards compatible (your gpu is 3.0 aswell)

so i think u can probably make it work, if not return/sell

theck out this bad boy - https://www.asus.com/Motherboard-Accessory/HYPER-M-2-X16-CARD/

holds 4 m.2's and has heatsink and cooler^^ i read its only for x399 not sure tho

That support would be because it's pcie x16 and mainstream CPUs/boards don't have the lanes for that.
