i paid $600 when it was on sale quite some time ago. at that time matching and beating most 1080 prices and also offering extra cooling.
did you all forget the price decrease has been happening over the last month?

perhaps someone more than Ghot can participate in the convo.
until then, i'd appreciate the little kids go play fortnight

sorry to assume you purchased it recently since youre still asking how to build it and don't have all the parts. generally it's best to buy everything at once, not a gpu months before you buy a cpu cooler and build

also I played fortnite before it was cool and not since okay

i'm also sorry you posted. as you have added nothing of value to the topic and only came here to compare apples to oranges.
the gpu you listed is the DT ACX 3.0. that listing has already sold out.
the core and boost clock is also lower on that model than mine. again, mine has hybrid cooling. that version does not.

core and boost clock mean little since you can overclock, the cooler on your card likely would not add much if any overclocking headroom and pretty much only adds another point or two of potential failure

20% of them were still available at the time I posted it, if you had bought recently like I thought you could have probably still returned it and purchased the one I linked

Im not sure why youre being so rude. I offered a site that had many more options for fans and pointed out the 1080 issue. You already bought the GPU. Not everyone understands the differences. If you dont want help just dont ask.

to you personally i have not been rude. you've also posted on topic. 80mm fans do not fit my bracket and i explained such. i only responded that i am aware the Ti is a better version.

you though... came in here and said... i don't like your gpu. buy this "now" cheaper gpu that doesn't have any sort of water cooling.
this would defeat the purpose of post-poning a dedicated loop as i would have to start that loop now if i wanted any water cooling. which would be an extra ~$600 including the gpu block

thanks for trying on the fans evil, but 80mm will not work.

getting a $150 cheaper card only saves you $150 to spend on your loop, I'd say it helps your cause rather than defeat the purpose.

No need to have the GPU watercooled off the bat my dude, especially if you're planning a custom loop. you also stated you had to make budget cuts so I wanted to point out the most obvious place to cut lol

maybe I was being rude too so I don't blame you for being defensive but I'm not just trollin you

fair enough. you took the time to explain, so i'll do so as well.
i'll state that my mood towards the subject has immediately reversed reading this last comment.

i did purchase my GPU some time ago. it was for $600, but this was $169-$200 cheaper than usual for this model (pending what day you checked newegg). it was also cheaper than most other evga 1080's at the time. i believe only 1 matched the price at that time.
the biggest reason i settled on this gpu at the time, was as you stated, keeping me from spending on a custom loop right away.
one of my current issues with a custom loop, is the lack of options if i want to cover VRM.(which i do for this build) it forces me to use EK, which is by no means cheap.

i do still plan to do this in the future(next year). at that point though, the gpu i currently have will be sold and i'll have 2 higher-grade replacements in SLI.
pending on prices of GPU's at the time, this will cost me an extra $2200-$2500 to replace the CPU AiO cooler / add a monoblock / 2x gpu back-plates / reservoir / radiator / pump / fans / replace and add gpu
this GPU is a solid temp for my situation and will allow me get up and running within a couple weeks.

in short, it saves me some worry for a fanless case.
it also "was" the best, cheapest option at the time of purchase.

the 75mm fans, i'm hoping to place in between my gpu radiator and mobo, which is the top side of the tower. the only purpose of those is to blow on the aluminum heat-sink of the VRM.

i apologize for being defensive. i was looking to discuss future aspects of this build. i've weighed very heavily on what budgets to cut for the moment. this build is my compromise of cost and time of first completion
