Will post new build when I get home from work, doubt it will change much tho.

zells build above would technically preform better in games but I assume you need a good keyboard now not later.
While I have downgraded the cpu its not a huge loss since you have gains elsewhere across the board.
Gpu being the biggest increase. I kept with the colour scheme just to be more pleasing to the eye.

he'll probably need a headset and i'd like to get him one 144hz monitor.

probably drop the 1080 back to a 1070 and take the budget from there?

mouse is accounted for and he specifically wants 2 monitors, so budget is a bit tighter. also needs a headset.
