It has gotten even worse!

The GFX card market is so screwed, even 1050 Ti cards are inflating in price to $70+ over MSRP. The 1050 Ti!

When will people realize that 1) If you didn’t start mining before this last summer, it’s too late; and 2) 1050 Ti’s for mining! Lol

Prices are rising in line with Nvidia's plan to raise msrp's on all market segments since AMD doesn't compete anymore, can't blame miners for everything. Eventually the xx60 line will cost over $400.

samsung is producing gddr6 right now which competes with hbm2
so new cards will be out in less than 6 months most likely

My brother bought another 1080 Ti for $800, so he’s going to sell me the reference 980 it’s replacing. Cost is pretty good at $150!

Does compete with hbm2. Hbm2's margins will be smaller than gddr6 which is why they are making it :)
Also easier/faster to produce

The mining craze won't die down anytime soon. As long as there are ASIC resistant coins gpu's will continue to be overpriced and used for mining.
