ive edited your pp list with what has been rated as the #1 air cooled heatsync, and a liquid option.
the air cooler is massive, but throughput of air is actually very impressive, along with having 12 stems that run over the base.
the liquid cooled option: i understand that you are weary of leaks, i was the same way. ive had my h115 running constant for a little over 2 years with no issues at all. i have taken my AMD fx 9590 from stock 4.7ghz to a constant and stable 5.5ghz (max stable oc capability is supposed to be 5ghz) with minimal fluctuations in the core temps using the h115. maintenace wise; as you should anyways even with air cooled, clean your case out every 2 weeks to a month, and double check all of the connectors for signs of leaks. dont be weary of liquid cooling. im not anymore. it is well worth it, especially if you intend on deliding the cpu..
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/yxgNJValso: i found this comparison of the air cooler ive listed vs a few "closed loop" liquid coolers.. interesting read
http://www.relaxedtech.com/reviews/noctua/nh-d15-versus-closed-loop-liquid-coolers/1No you didn't. I know Vishera all too well, and you didn't hit a stable 5.5
I went through dozens of those chips and the best I could get, legitimately stable is 5.15~
You're not getting that unless if you're on LN2.
I mean, of course, I've never dumpster dived CPU's. Maybe those are where the golden chips are?
