Oh so you already bought it? Great price tho :)

well runs kinda hot if you wanna OC it, which is pretty much a most on these chips. A evo 212 for 20bucks can handle 180W which is more than enough for reaching 3.9-4GHz

Well made this because you asked for suggestions, but you already own the build?

I had to take an offer of the parts he was able to slide into the deal, I went into it knowing I was going to swap pieces out, I just didn't want to blindly do it without considering compatibility

hdd is fine depending on his uses for it.

Indeed, for storage it's perfect. But with a 250GB SSD, some games would probably be placed on it.

for 1100$ it's a steal, not like anything would be bottlenecking and it's close to perfect pieces for the budget.

My rating include a higher budget and a few parts changed out, but not something that would directly increase performance anywhere near significantly enough to be worth it.

Ryzen is the shit for allaround builds right now.
Intel might yield a bit higher FPS on average right here right now with the loss of multi core performance.
AMD has a bad reputation for their FX-Series they been running for the past 5 years. Ryzen series was kinda a game changer.

Blizzard Games
Runescape
Uploading 5-10m videos in 1080p
Multi-tab multi-windowed text-based informational browsing and compilation for my job
Jsp and general browsing

rejoice, for you don't need to be a 'fan' of a company to use their quality products.

But I see this a lot, the mind share of AMD being a shitheap really has seeped into the mind of generation Z and Millenials thanks to Bulldozer eh.. Gonna be a few years til AMD recover from that slow housefire arch that was actually slower than Deneb.

I'm thankful that I remember AMD's K8 arch so well.

So as it stands I should be good for the next 8-12 months? I was mainly concerned with the processor/board being a tad behind the curve

Edit: just saw your edited post regarding AMD, that makes me feel a bit better about the component :) thanks

Honestly I don't really see the use in overclocking unless I'm a streamer playing AAA games, or some type of MLG. Is there really a point for it beyond those?
