Bringing this back up as I am now seriously looking into purchasing something.

I've been looking at pre-builts from http://ironsidecomputers.com/page.php?load=index

Pretty much a noob to computer building, but if it can perform on par with those pre-builts I may be into it.

I mainly get confused as to what brand would be good to buy from and the part that sort of confuses me is how do you know what parts will work with other parts?

on par? and assembled pc will blow a prebuilt out of the water for the same price..

LOL this made me chuckle. Thanks for the laugh, I'll look into the video tonight and see if it can ease some of my concerns. My brother has built his before and seems well versed and is willing to help me. I've heard some people say it's almost as easy as putting together lego. I just need to do the research on what goes well with what.



You think even as a noob (I know there is help in building) I can squeeze some extra cash out of the single parts/not including cost of labor, and dedicate it towards the PC for more output?

I'm just frustrated that a lot of my games are being played on ultra low settings and I still struggle.

Just build this. Works fine, lasts a long time.
