what about the fury or polaris lol you cant say its consistent fury/polaris didnt get anywhere the improvement those other 2 got

which matches up well with the 'gains' in single thread perf we've seen since it came out

you think dx12 wont be a thing but vulkan will

look at win10's market share, it's flatlined. now pretend you're a game developer... would you make games that only a minority of people can even play? Of course not. Vulkan is cross-platform and allows you to deliver your product to the largest audience. Windows 10, Windows 7, GNU/Linux, graphics cards that aren't 'dx12 compliant', it doesn't matter, they all support it. Basically dx12 and win10 is an attempt at a monopoly, and everyone, game developers, steam, amd, nvidia, are pushing back against it. No one wants dx12. People who got conned into upgraded to windows 10 expecting dx12 to matter as if there will ever be a game that exclusively uses that API are slowly realizing it and that's hurting the market share almost as much as the OS being a shitheap is

It's not really fortune telling, it's just looking at things rationally.

i am talking dx12 specifically not about 11 or 10 or 9. This API is the only one I know of that is only available on one operating system. I don't believe there will ever be a single non-microsoft title that only supports dx12, unless something miraculous happens and people suddenly start using windows 10 en masse.

I get that "you are the product" is the future of computing but imo win10 pushed for it too soon.

@op how about when you ask for help you give us the info required to help you.

what is your current hardware so we can see if getting a gpu is even worth it,
or if you even need a new psu. what oc's you got going on... etc.

I mean your basically saying "I'm capable on my own" so why even ask us.

Because some people here have bought these things prior.
Thats why I wanted an opinion.

Im running with an older i7 4k but thats irrelevant because all my game setting lag comes from shading and lighting which is more gpu based.
I needed a faster card with more processing power.

Essentially I can have textures maxed but if I turn the shading and lighting up it lags to hell.

Shadows are mostly draw calls and can create cpu based lag though. What i7 is it exactly? You were very non-specific.
