Vulkan is cross-platform and allows you to deliver your product to the largest audience. Windows 10, Windows 7, GNU/Linux, graphics cards that aren't 'dx12 compliant', it doesn't matter, they all support it. Basically dx12 and win10 is an attempt at a monopoly, and everyone, game developers, steam, amd, nvidia, are pushing back against it. No one wants dx12. People who got conned into upgraded to windows 10 expecting dx12 to matter as if there will ever be a game that exclusively uses that API are slowly realizing it and that's hurting the market share almost as much as the OS being a shitheap is
