This. Never understood why ppl go from 6300 to 8350. Pretty dumb upgrade IMO

How so? its like 50$ atm used and gives you 20-25% increase over the 6300.
Sell the old 6300 for 25$ easy, seems like a good upgrade if you got the time.

i can assure you that he's not going to get 20-25% gaming increase in ark and he will still be dissatisfied.
Though if he can sell his chip for $25, and get 8350 for $50 that isn't bad either for overall purposes.
Definitely do not buy 8350 new, on sale though.

its 20-25% increase over the 6300 not in gaming just in general.

Well I've got my 6300 oc'd to 4.2 so was wondering if it would be worth it to get a 8350 and oc it.

I know ark isn't optimized worth a shit. I've got over 3k hours and it just seems my build is having stuttering issues when on big raids.

If changing to overclock 8350 won't even be noticeable I'll just have to switch over to Intel.

Its more on the gpu not the cpu.

remember your gpu is a 200 card.
Not exactly a top tier card by any means.

Would make sense if I said I was trying to play high settings but when it does it if it's on low or high I want to lean more towards the cpu. Maybe I'm over thinking it though

Does your cpu show 100% load? if not its not the cpu.

When it starts getting 90+ is when I'm seeing the stuttering

If your cpu is hitting 90+ then its probably holding it back.
I haven't ran ark in time so I don't really recall how cpu dependent it was.

Whats the gpu load at?

I haven't paid much attention to the gpu load I'll have to watch it next time I'm on. Never noticed it getting high. I play more for the pvp aspect instead of the visuals so I usually always have stuff set to low/ medium. I'll watch it next time I'm on ark
