SLI scaling is fine. But yeah selling and buying a bigger card would be more optimal. I am sucker for sli builds.

But yeah for some reason the didn't make the 1060s sli compatible.

The gpu should be good enough for 1080p ultra 150+ fps tho.

- can you check cpu and gpu usage while streaming overwatch? Overclocking might be fine. Then you can put money aside and see how the upcoming ryzen performers.

And you are talking about processor or mobo/ram upgrade. You would pretty much need to upgrade all three things at once. Like if you want a kaby lake or skylake you would need a 1151socket mobo to use it and ddr4 ram aswell.

Lemme know.

Yeah I want to try sli on mine eventually, they look amazing, and it's just a cool concept to me

The simple answer, even though it's practically already been said, is that you'll need a better GPU if you're wanting 144fps consistently. You'll probably be able to play Overwatch with the 1060 at that fps but you'll likely see some dips. CPU, Ram, everything else isn't going to get you a huge increase in frames.

that's so disappointing... I have literally every video setting on low and I still can't get 144 stable unless I'm standing still in the spawn room. but once abilities start flying i dip lower. if I get a 1070 will I be satisfied? I don't even care about gfx quality, hency why im on low settings I just want high stable fps.

This makes no sense (to me)

Supposedly "real life" is 60 fps

So anything above 100 is excessive, you should be looking for quality over quantity

If you played first person shooters somewhat seriously and have used/own a 144 hz monitor you will understand what I mean... if not then you just haven't experienced it.

I know :( sorry man. Yes a 1070 would be more consistent however I can't say for sure that it would be a constant 144. Sorry for the disappointing news. However, if it is any consolation. I am still a peasant playing on 60hz monitors simply because I want a cockpit before a new monitor XD
