thank you zwix for your input on this. is this mobo on par with the rog strix so i could match the gpu?

Yeah looks good.
If you wanna use the rest of the money you could consider either a bigger SSD, a better PSU or 32GB RAM.

I doubt you will be missing any of the features on the ROG Maximus IX over the other. So its a surething, if you rather want that board you should go for it.

edit: oh or an aio cooler. you should be able to reach over 5.0Ghz

Yeah correct on the AIO. Its because it already has pump, radiator, tubes, waterblock and liquid and closed off.
Sounds good on the motherboard.

When ever you are going to upgrade your monitor you should make a new thread so we can give some recommendations.
There is a lot of things to take into consideration when buying a monitor, like resolution and refresh rate but also things like panal type TN vs IPS, response time and much more.

If you wanna reuse your current cooler your gotta have some thermal paste to reapply.
I personally use Noctua NT-H1. But the one mentioned earlier is just as good.

2x would be ideal. But 4x for aesthetics.

The CPU memory controller is taxed when it needs to handle 4 sticks over 2 sticks. Doubt it will have any noticeable negative impact tho.
And you know the purpose of upgrading. But I doubt over 32GB will be required for gaming while ddr4 technology is viable.
