This Asus monitor has adaptive sync. Its worth the extra cash.
Can stay away from the EVGA NEX series. Go for G2 if you want EVGA.

Adaptive sync, not sure what that is? But it's worth an extra 100 bucks?

I really hate spending more than like 150 on a monitor. >.< I am a pretty cheap bastard.

Well you're looking at a new line of CPUs about to be released in the next ~6-8 weeks.

I came out to 1404 when I did a build on microcenters website with a liquid cooler excluding ram

My thoughts are this. The NZXT cases are cheaply made and buying a used cpu isn't the worst option in the world if you're trying to maximize your performance:dollar ratio.

CPU/mobo/case best to buy new from micro center

Everything else you would need to find deals on/rebates.

Hmm. I'll have to find a day I can swing by there. It's about a 30 minute drive for me.

In terms of saving money, Another thing you can consider is dropping the i7 to an i5 or the 1080 to a 1070.
The i7 currently wont offer any more performance than an i5 in the tasks you described, so you wouldn't miss it.
1080 is in fact more powerful than the 1070 but it's very unfairly priced (10-15% more performance for nearly 70% more cost), so you could easily shave off costs and have similar performance. I don't think you'd miss that either and you would save a lot of money.

More like 20-25% more power..? But yeah. Cost is absurd.

I will be using it with 2x monitors. Both will be 1080p + and the main one for CS:GO will be 144hz / 1ms so I'd need something that can stand up to that.

I want to play all games on the highest settings I can go to without any flaws. WoW (maybe? Haven't played in a long time), CS:GO, GTA, Shadow of Mordor and whatever new releases that are good.

I know. The i5 will perform the same as the i7 in all of these games. The i7 only has more cores than the i5 and many games do not use these more cores. And when they do, the performance gains are usually not worth 100 dollars, so that's why you can easily take it off. (also i5's clock higher when overclocking, allowing for more performance in most cases)

The 1070 will also do this just fine. A 150 dollar graphics card will max all of those games no problem (including 144 hz at cs go and except gta), so with the 1070 you will be 100% fine. I think you are underestimating how powerful the 1070 and 1080 are.

Personally in your shoes, since I love GPU's id stick with the 1080 and drop to an i5. an i7 is basically just a waste of money for you.

@ Incen you are right, it is 20-25%. :)

edit: also be careful however, as we are getting new GPUs around January, and with that the price of the 1080's should drop considerably. you may want to factor that in if you hate extreme depreciation. Since the 1080's price is so over-inflated, it is most vulnerable to this. (the 1070's will drop too, just not as much, since they are more fairly priced)

I'll wait till January then.

Maybe just buy a monitor for now. I don't NEED a new computer. I run all my games flawlessly right now with my current setup. I just wanted to give this computer to my brother and build one for myself that's a little better. lol

Oh well, thank you for the help! I'll be back in a month to ask for a build again. :P
