It's simply an inferior architecture.

This is coming from the guy that had multiple phenom CPU's, 8320's, 8350's, and has experimented with half a dozen 9350's and 9590's. For performance intel is far superior. There was a point in time when AMD competed on a budget level but unless if you're on a severe budget intel is much better.

As a media server though, AMD is just fine.

But for gaming its over engineered

Horrible IPC. Which also makes it very power inefficient.
On paper amd are superior. In real life they suck. Specially game which rely on single or duel core performance take huge hits in performance.

I do wish they would do better. So push intel, the last 6 generation performance increase has been laughable! Get away from silicon that shit been perfected already. This is because intel has no competition.

Not at all. Running 290x quadfire against a 9590 was horrdenus.

I swapped out the 9590 for a 6700k and it was night and day.
