There are no tests to really tell you this. If there is an existing problem with it, stress testing will reveal it. but if theres no problems, there is no way to gauge how soon you will have problems.
You won't need to replace the thermal paste unless you're seeing heat issues. (which speccy or any other temp monitor program will tell you).
In your instance, if you do not wish to upgrade the CPU unless you have to, I would just run it until you are planning on buying a real upgrade. I.e a new processor/board set altogether.
GPU seems like the best option then, as I never do anything that graphics intensive, other than wow and overwatch which honestly low graphics in them dont matter to me
