Anyone have any other builds to recommend? Max budget at $1025.
Also forgot to say he would be using programs like Sony Vegas.

We could easily hit that budget with a 6600K, but for serious editing... ???

I'm not sure what you mean when you say "but for serious editing?"

I dunno either. The build your friend was looking at seemed to be more for editing..

...and you said: Adobe After Effects, Photoshop

I just thought he wanted a 6800 series or better.

He'll be doing a medium mix of gaming and editing, he's not doing editing on any professional level, he just wants to tinker with making youtube gameplay videos, tutorials, intros, and stuff like that.
He's made a few using his current setup and it takes him hours and sometimes days to render videos.
Sorry if I'm not making sense, I'm bouncing back and forth between 100 different things lol.
Always appreciate your input though buddy!

Well then this might be a good choice...

You can just change the 660K to a 6700K if you want...same for the vid card....I chose a GTX 1060, but you could swap for an AMD RX 480 or a GTX 1070 if desired. Note: The GTX 1060 has no SLI support.

Swapped a couple of things to save some money with minor repercussion.

Could get a 1070 and be a little over budget.

Those are looking good! Only thing that can be removed from those is a case, and an optical drive.
Hes getting picky thinking he knows what he needs, insisting he wants an i7, thoughts on going with the 6700k vs 4790k?

He upped budget to $1300.

See any issues or anything that I could change here?
