ah okay cool I couldn't find anything on a new AMD chip but if they are bringing out one later this year or early next year then I will wait.. I find AMD is cheaper than intel and if it'll compete with skylake chips or close to then I'll wait to get the AMD for probably a hundred bucks less which that 100 should cover most of the cost of the new mobo. maybe the 1060 will go down a little in price to if i wait another 6 months to get that new mobo/cpu as well!

Yeah soon all prices will drop on gpus.
Currently all the gpus are suffering from inflation due to low supply and high demand - on top of this the old cards have not properly dropped in price yet, leaving even less of a reason to keep the new cards at a reasonable price.
So as time goes on and these old cards are cleared/demand-supply evens out, you sahould see significantly lower prices on all gpus.

edit: oh and to further this, AMD has not released their high end gpus yet, so by some measure that is also not forcing cards pricing to drop as much as well since there is only pressure from the 1070 and 1080 (both of which are pretty overpriced due to zero competition in this space) to bring prices down on last gen's high end entries.

I'm probably going to pick up a 1060..seems crazy cheap for what it pushes out and compared to my gtx760 it is like 2x..maybe3x as good. Also I'm probably going to go with i5 6600K and get a new mobo and up to 16gb ram so I can have a really nice beast computer for a long time

That's what I just did. I ended up with the 1070 since I got a deal from someone who didn't want theirs. Dicking around with overclocking at the moment. XD
