I just don't understand the gaps between 1060, 1070 and 1080. I see a lot of builds going with 1070 over the 1080. What's the difference?

You shouldn't worry about that. You budget wouldn't allow it.

But gtx 1080 gets about 20% higher FPS than a gtx 1070 at 1440 and 4k.
In 1080p some in a lot of games they are actually pretty close in FPS.

Eh my monitor isn't all that great, I think 1080 is max resolution.

I can increase my budget for a better GPU but I'm not sure if I want to yet.

The 1070 handles everything smoothly? My GPU right now is a Sapphire R9 280 (I think, maybe the 270). It's handled everything I threw at it for the last two or three years.

Yeah the 1070 would do perfect in 1080p. Its even okay on 1440p.

with some changes on sales etc from since the 9th july

Let's bump up the price to $1300.

Would I be able to get an I7 with a 1080?

Probably around Christmas I'll upgrade my monitor to 1440 / 144hz so I don't want any troubles with the 1070. I also run duo monitors so I'd have 1440p and 1080p on the side.

Just a bit above 1300$ if you want quality all around

Not bad! Would I see a difference between liquid cooling for my CPU compared to the 212 EVO?

Also, is that mobo relatively good? Is it wiser to upgrade the mobo as well?

I really don't want to change the mobo in the future, but the RAM, CPU and GPU I don't mind since it's easy as hell. A mobo change would suck.

AIO 280mm rad is about 8c cooler than a 212 EVO.
So i depends on how hard you wanna push OC.

here is the different from the Asus Z170-A 140$ vs the 85$ E version

-The Z170-A has more video input support and can support up to 3 seperate monitors using integrated graphics

-The Z170-A can support a larger amount of graphics cards simultaneously, NVIDIA® Quad-GPU SLI™ Technology as well as AMD 3-Way CrossFireX™ Technology. The Z170-E is limited to 2 way SLI and Crossfire.

-The Z170-A has 1 extra legacy PCI lane

-The Z170-A has slightly better in-built audio

-The Z170-A has both USB 3.1 A & C connections, the Z170-E only has USB 3.1 C.

Both will perform very similarly.

Probably features you will never use. If you don't have a really highend headset you wouldn't hear any different in the sound either.

I use Sennheiser for my headphones. The 598HD.

I was actually thinking about getting a sound card to put them into better use. I wonder if it'll effect the footsteps on CS:GO as well because I can't hear them for shit now.

E: I also do not want to OC, because I am a beginner and rather just do it easy. So a liquid cooler is pretty much just for OC'ing?

I doubt it. I'm no audio nerd tho so can't help you out there.
Pretty sure you won't hear much difference from a highend sound card to the one in that motherboard. They are quite decent these days.

Well you are getting some hardware made for overclocking, you might as well try it. Free performance.
You will be able to do some light overclocking on that 212 EVO.

Interesting, well I do not know how to OC but I am sure it's not too challenging.

I may just go with that build since no one else is giving me their 2 cents. :P
