Basically unless you put boxes in front of all your fans, it doesn't really matter how many or which way they are pointing.

Sure having the fans are better than not having them, but your PC can work basically just as well with no case fans.

I don';t care wht LinusTechTips says...in my own case I have tried various options, and have gotten the lowest temps...BY FAR...in the arrangement I have shown.

Why are you quoting me and directing your statements towards me. I didn't even reference you.

Here's the important part of the case fans video...just like I said..10-15C difference, withe fans done right.

/e The OS in this video is Windows. :/

/ee Lastly, keep in mind, he isn't even testing with the fans or the airflow....backwards or cross-competing.

Did you even read what I posted or are you just trying to verify your existence again.

Let me cut out some of the noise so you can concentrate better:

Air flow doesn't matter really and only raises temps a few C.

I personally use the largest and minimal number of fans

  • Air flow only raises temps a few C as your chart indeicates
  • At no point I said not to use case fans

So with this in consideration your 10-15C difference is not relevant since I never said not to use case fans. So basically your graph just confirmed everything I just said.

Thank you I guess.

Guess neither of you watched the video. :/

As he SAID in the video...this is just one specific test. What he didn't say... this was in a controlled environment, with all new and clean parts.

ANYONE who recommends few or unconsidered case fans, is an idiot.

I'm kind of upset with LinustechTips in this instance. With all their advertising and tl;dw vids, they are doing a DIS-service to the tech community. There have been thousands of much better conceived studies concerning air flow, fan placement etc., done over the years.

As usual, I invite either of you to address the OP with YOUR recommendations, and then live with them....ofc. :)

/e @ OP.... as I stated above, before the peanut gallery chimed in... this is the best option...

There was a linux tech tips video on it where they basically shoved the PC full of books and blankets and benched it.

I saw that and was surprised! :o
