Here, works fine, lasts a long time...

Just get a GTX 1080 (end of May) or GTX 1070 (end of June)...

Triple-A is a classification term used for games with the highest development budgets and levels of promotion. A title considered to be AAA is therefore expected to be a high quality game or to be among the year's bestsellers.
Games like: DOOM 2016, Far Cry Primal, Hitman, tomb raider, witcher 3, crisis 3, Metal Gear Solid 4, grand theft auto 5.

those are mostly single player games then, like ones you'd play on an xbox? I guess mmorpgs have lesser requirements then.

Yeah they are mostlying made for single player. There are multiplayer in most of them tho. I've played them all on my PC. And they are all gpu heavy. Mmorpgs are heavier on the cpu because calculate more user data then visual compared to aaa fps (Very simple explained).

Highend consumer cpu are cheaper than highend consumer gpu(s)

Can, not looking to buy one until I get back home, just wanted to know how much I'd be spending.

put it this way

Runescape is based purely off your CPU

GTA5/League/any game like that is based off your GPU

D3 is actually quite cpu intensive. I lagged quite a lot on a quad core an old one tho.
Incoming games with also utilise cpu load better with the new APIs vulcan and directx.

1500$ would get you an optimal system which would probably last twice as long. But a 750$ system would do fine for your needs. It's a matter of budget.
