Zen is slated for this year. Though initially it's supposed to only include high end models such as 6 and or 8 cores with hyper threading, with cheaper stuff to come in 2017.
In any event, would wait for their processors to settle in, should make for some better pricing options :)

You can overclock to about 4.5 ghz on an evo, and it will perform reasonably close to the i5 4460.

Even with amd at 4.5ghz, its single core performance is still prolly a lot less than an i5 at 3.5ghz lol.
