ok so there both agsacly the same type of ram and sand brand

the computer boots fine with the old ram but soon as i place the new ram in the pc powers up but the red ram light stays solid and nothing boots up aka monitor, keyboard, mouce etc

then after a few secs it shuts down then turns back and and does the same thing soon as i remove the new ram it works just fine there both 2x4 gig meaning 16 gigs in total for all 4 and my mobo can go up to 16-32 gigs i beleve

anyway thats ware im at do i need to edit anything in the bios for voltage or something?

No the rams BAD IT SOUNDS LIKE TRY EACH OF THE NEW STICKS 1 BY 1 NOW.
whoops damn caps lock.

if it does it with both sets rma the ram in fact ask if they can take bother ses back and give you a single set of the alotted size.
Corsair did this for me cause my revisions were nto working together. mind you miy issue was far worse. Like the pc would boot
everything acted fine and BAM BSOD randomly for no reason all the mini dumps pointed to jibberish. I RMA'd the board and like
3 other things cause every memtest i did said the ram worked because they did juts not together in windows.

Usually on the very bottom of the circuit board, that is part of the RAM, it will have a version number. If the version number on both sets is not the same, then these problems can occur.

If it was me...I'd just send the new RAM back and order a 16GB set...aka..2x 8GB sticks.

Nothing you do in the BIOS will help if the RAM is mismatched. The different version numbers..mean the IC chips that make up the RAM are different.
Also...the power supply has nothing to do with the RAM.

honestly your wasting your time though cause unless your an extremist and going for a real mean oc
with a cherry picked chip its pointless. your at best going to shave a few degrees under full load.

Just be careful if you need to pull the heatsink off in the future. That shit is like an epoxy. Works well though.

maybe you had a bad batch.
Never once had issues removing as5 unless I used the artic silver/alumina thermal adhesive which is supposed to do that.
