I notice that mobo doesn't list 2133 RAM (which is the type I have) on there
it does list it on Newegg but with an * and I don't see anything explaining the *
in the bios you have to set the cas and speed step of the ram manually, I have this board and found it odd that it didnt set it automatically as well.. this mobo sets it at its default 1600mhz, for 1866/2133 you have to manually change it.
have you concidered just upgrading the cpu? seems like you have a fairly new rig, a 8320/8350 runs great on that board ( i have an 8320, oveclocked from 3.5ghz to 4.5ghz with the cooling aid of a corsair h100i gt liquid cooling setup. runs at a cool 23*c idle, highest ive been able to make it hit is 38*c under extreme load) i have yet to find anything that lags this cpu. but again it will really depend on your intentional use of your pc.. if you do photo/vid editing, music composition (more or less cpu intensive thrashing/buffering) id stick with amd, if you want flawless gaming, and you only use the rig to game, intel may be your best choice. if you do decide to go intel, go with a complete new build case and all. keep the amd rig as a backup/ guest/friend computer an all purpose intel build should run about $1500CAD or less, $2k if you dont want to have to upgrade parts for at least 5 years...
*sidenote* i did flash the bios to a more recent release as well, as much as it wasnt really needed
my gaming, photo/vid editing, music composition, dj build:
