The main reason you should get the Hawk. Easy to return if not up to snuff.
Probably cheaper too. Employee discount?

yeah got discount, can return any time i want.

will sure test it! first going to overclock it to the max possible, and do some bechmark on 4k settings.

card should arive tomorrow.

I guess it is too late now, but if you plan on overclocking and you want a quiet card I would of gone with a water cooled version especially if budget isn't an issue.

This card would of been perfect for you and it runs very cool. At Idle it's around 30C and under heavy load around 50C.

i believe he got this: http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127911

so also water cooled

Also intetersted in how high you can clock it and benchmarks

Oh ok, nice.
He should be able to clock it to 1500 no problem and most likely be able to hit 1600 as well.

I personally have the water cooled gtx 970 hybrid
Get it
It's worth it
Temps idle are 25c and rise of the tomb raider max settings 1440p is 45c max for 2 hours straight and maybe even more
Also, it doesn't build heat for the rest of your components or your room as well

My room runs a lot cooler than it did with the air cooled gpu

2 questions...
First: What exactly is the benefit of your card running at 45C?? The overclock on watercooled grafic cards is not that much better then on air cooled ones.
Second: How exactly is a cooler grafic card make your "room" run cooler???

EDIT: Also why would a air cooled grafic card heat up your other components. You usually have the exhaust fan right over the grafic card to remove the hot air from the case.

I have to facepalm here. GPU still blows hot air into the case. Also lower temps mean longevity and also helps keep a stable overclock.

This is PC building 101.

Any other words of wisdom you need?

You keep misinforming people constantly. It's quite tiresome.

If your GPU blows hot air into your CPU then you set up a terrible airflow. That is a problem that should only occur in mini-ITX cases but not in regular mid-towers
Also longevity? These chips are build to operate at high temperatures. The GTX 970 is rated until 98C.
But i give you the more stable overclock, also sadly it is not that much. Watercooling only starts to shine when you run more then one GPU.

EDIT: But we dont have to argue about it now. He will post his results tomorrow and then we can compare it to a regular air cooled card.

If something produces less heat overall wouldnt that mean everything in and around it will also have less heat?
Even if I have good airflow, less heat means less heat
Question
Does more heat with good airflow run cooler than less heat with good airflow?
Why would you let it run at 78C normally when you can run it at 40c?
Are you seriously saying less temp overall is not worth extra $50?? lol
