You're looking at $450 minimum for a custom loop on one CPU and one GPU. Then probably at least another $550 for 3x 28" IPS monitors - more if you want higher quality monitors or 1440p.

Yeah that's where I was coming from when I said spending 2300 on the pc leaves me in a bind for the monitors and loop. May be best to go closed loop or air cooler. However when it comes to monitors where can I get 3 for 550? i was probably looking in the wrong places but all I could find was like 300 a monitor for ips monitors :s. Also as for 1440 vs 1080 I still can't decide which size I want to go with. Normally I record in like 2.7k to crop it down to 1080 in post but is it worth it to go 1440?

I would get the monitors you want instead of getting a custom loop.
you can always swap out your AIO or air cooler later on.
Swapping out monitors is a massive waste of money imo

should go with 2x 1440p if they can fit your budget

Yeah that's kind of what I was thinking. Since I'm not going for world record overlook speeds and it was more of for looks to me, I have more priority over the monitors compared to the loop.

my attempt ;)
2x 1440p monitors included
this mobo can take up to 3200 ram where the saber can take up to 2400
you do sacrifice 2x stata though (but you still get 6)
not sure what else is sacrificed though

Sabertooth X99 supports 3400 RAM.

Potential update: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/Nr7JjX

Questions:
I always heard that when it comes to ram you should stick with 2200/2400 or jump straight to 3200. I could be wrong but I thought I remembered reading something about when overclocking these are better because the base clock is set to 100 and then the multiplier is changed to get the final frequency. Where as like 2666/3000 is set to an odd base clock or something and this makes it a bad choice for overclocked rigs. Also from looking into the ram frequency, is it really worth the 60-70$ for the very minimal in performance upgrade going from 2400 to 3000? The comparison on Asus RoG forums of 2400, 2666, 2800, 3000, and 3200 was under a 1% increase from 2400 to 3200. Perhaps something was limiting their results within the Mobo or something? Couldn’t I buy another 2x8gb pack of 2400 for like 20$ more and benefit more from having 48gb of 2400 ram over 32gb of 3000? Feel free to correct me.

Also I would like to ask, with it being air cooled, how well will the GPU be able to be overclocked in a safe margin?

Would you mind letting me know where you purchase a windows 10 Key at for 20$? Also if I go that route can I get the windows 10 install directly from Microsoft? (sorry I am at work and cant access their website to verify the download is there).

Changes: ( feel free to criticize or tell me I am dumb for changing parts :P )
  • Swapped out the GPU for the Gigabyte version as the other had red (I hate red haha) and going for a purely black & white theme.
  • Removed the 256GB SSD. Because I have been advised previously that the second SSD won’t help me in the way I planned. If I do need more speed in the future for quicker boot times then I will just grab a second 512GB and put them in Raid 0.
  • Added a wireless card since I tend to stay away from direct Lan connections.
  • Added thermal paste for the cooler.
  • Added speakers since monitors do not include built in audio.
  • Added 1 stock hyper 212 Fan to run push/pull.
  • Added fan controller with 6 ports. This will control the 5 case fans. The 2 cpu cooler fans will be ran into the mobo for more precise temperature based controlling.
  • Added 3 case fans. Reason being is I would like to have plenty of airflow for future upgrades (2gpu etc when cash permits). This also gives me the option in the future when I can afford a water loop to have plenty of fans ready for push/pull on the radiator. My case fan setup, in my head (may change when I get the case) is as follow. Case comes with 2 fans already which will give me a total of 5 fans. 2 exhaust fans on the top, 1 exhaust fan on the top rear of the case (stock position), 1 intake from the bottom front, and 1 last intake from the bottom middle in front of the PSU. This should result in negative air pressure which I am a fan of as I feel it leaves less non circulated air within the case. Also under the impression of the hot air rising & expanding with my theoretical setup I have, air should enter at the lower front, and continue to exhaust out the top rear. This should theoretically allow the air to move in a diagonal direction allowing the air to hit all the major components effortlessly.

You should not run any SSD's in Raid 0. Higher risk of failure and the increase in performance is not that big. If you feel like your boot times are to slow, then get a OCZ RevoDrive 350. About 3,5 times faster then a SSD and very reliable.

This is not the right cooler for you, if you want to overclock your CPU to 4.6GHz.

The GPU is already getting pretty hot. Dont think there will be much room for further overclock. I read that some people got it to about 1,19GHz but other say they already were unstable at 1.1

Well in germany i bought my key from kinguin.net... not sure if the sites also sells in the US.

PS: Also RAM is RAM. As long as you have enough Memory, the clockspeed does not matter. Just check if the RAM comes with a lifetime warrenty.

ignore me then
pcpartpicker lists the max @ 2400
wut
swap back to that board OP as I see you needing the extra sata ports in the future

also, i linked the 212 evo with the INTENT that you're going to upgrade before any major overclocking takes place (4.4 or higher)
if you're looking to keep the setup for awhile get a noctua or an AIO or a phanteks.. they do have a white one I believe

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/MPNH6h

they do have a white/black one ;)

Over budget but has water cooling and everything is black and white including motherboard. Could save a little going with a different board. Also, Asus can be finicky with Corsair memory sometimes. It has happened to several people which is why I recommend G. Skill and Kingston.
