No need to explain more. Also, Broadwell-E is using X99 chipset and will support up top 8 channel RAm with the same motherboards. So, easily, yet more expensive, to upgrade to the next level Enthusiast chips.

Rather pout money into 2nd card instead of going extreme

Which is why I would go with Haswell-E before Skylake. Only because personally, I like Enthusiast chips. Also, it would require less to upgrade than a Skylake would if he decides to go bigger and better.

Kaby Lake but I believe, though I may be mistaken, that it still will only support Dual Channel RAM.

Quad Channel is a 30% boost over Dual Channel.

Here they say that it's almost double the bandwitch. Using my own benchmarks, there is a noticeable difference in benchmarks between Dual and Quad Channel.
