It is just under 12inchs to the harddrive racking so I can not fit 305mm card, where does that leave me now in upgrading?

Buy new case? or smaller card?

well then you just have to buy a card that fitts.
the msi version is 277mm
the asus is 300mm
the powercooler is 305mm

under specifications you can find the dimensions of your card.

By the way. last compatibility check. whats your psu (power supply). it needs to have a 6pin and a 8 pin connector. usually under specifications it is written like this: "2x PCI Express 6+2pol"

i5 2500k can easly feed 100fps+ at most games. There is no need to overclock it.

Not most games. All games. There is currently no game that a r9 390 cant run.

2500K overclocked is a beast gaming CPU. Why would you leave ornate stock clocks?

just get a SSD for the 2500k build and call it a day
the 4 games u listed don't require 390/970. Plus if you get a 390, ull definitely want a new PSU, cos that shit is junk.
Just try it out first, and get GPU later. CAD pesos are no joke
