u can downgrade to 2133 speed, but it's also only a $2-3 difference which isnt worth it cos slower speed, no heatsink etc.

simplest way put

if u only have 1, it's doing all the work on its own
if ur ram fucks up for some reason, ull need to get another & wont be able to use ur comp til u get urself a ram

if u have 2, it's less stressed into 1 ram doing everything so it's "faster"
if 1 of ur ram fails, at least u got the other ram to use temporarily & still be able to use the comp while u wait for another

theres more info ofc, but tl'dr ver is to save $7 it's not worth the hassle to just get 1
