if you plan on going the custom route, you have two options

1) build it yourself
2) have a company build it for you for $50 with "slight" markups on the cost of the system (NCIX builds systems with parts you choose for $50, plus the added costs of getting the parts through them instead of another reseller)

either way, fill this out :)

Budget:
More specific use (what games, what programs):
Planned time until purchase:
Do you need an Operating System?:
Do you have any specific preferred components?:
Do you need a sound or wireless card?:
Do you want stock cooling or do you plan on overclocking?:
Do you need a monitor? mouse? keyboard?:
Zip code/location? (Shipping costs):

yep like others have mentioned they make the computer look good by putting quality big ticket items that people are most familiar with cpu/gpu
aside from that they tend to put in the cheapest of pretty much everything else

I just had a guy buy one of my prebuilt pcs for 425 (paid an extra 60 for 12 more gb of ram, making it 485 total) dollars and tell me how happy he was with it. before buying mine, he said he bought the asus ROG tower from bestbuy for 850 and thought it was shit by comparison. he returned it to buy my pc.
So, i like to think that story embodies how we feel here at the computer building forum ^_^

I made that mistake before; the problem is they don't send you the stuff that usually comes with the items. Like, whatever power supply you get, they don't send you the extra cables that come with it. Neither the graphics card or mobo came with an sli bridge. 100% not worth it, overpriced, and I'm glad I researched and bought my own components the second time around. Me, the cable management was complete dog shit. Made a huge mistake. Then I found this sub forum and learned a ton.

this plus the huge mark up

most places are giving the option to customize better components but at a ridiculous cost

The components in ibuypower and cyberpc are crap actually. They're also overpriced quite a bit.
Building your own is cheaper.

http://forums.d2jsp.org/topic.php?t=56436747&f=189 - fill that out, you'll get more help that way.

I did a price compare between those sites and pcpartpicker////newegg///tigerdirect and they were actually a little cheaper with all the sales/deals they had going on.

Also, I don't know how you can call their components crap when you can literally choose which components you get. Like....I can get a GTX 970 or 980 or titan same as I could from newegg.

Helping people on this forum is nice and all but making shit up without providing a single shred of evidence supporting your claims doesn't help anyone.

OP if you like those sites definitely take a look at them. You may also like some of the additional things they offer.

Little cheaper Lol
1500 prebuilt can be had for 1k with manufacturer warranty not their warranty
Many now are adding complete better components but a small selection cuz they get them a reduced price but still not passing it on to you
And cable management is another story

I got a prebuilt one a few months ago and cables etc. were all fine. Also just built a $1,700 one for my GF that will be coming in (hopefully) next week. In addition to that....if you are so worried about cables you can actually select an option that gives you better cable management for like $10-$20 which I have never done since I've never had to worry about it.

I dunno....maybe if you buy a cheap PC from there then you have these issues but I have never had a problem with PCs from there and I've been a repeat customer for around 5 years now.
