intel build finally.. ( sorry 6 month old son needed my attention more than a build )..
http://pcpartpicker.com/p/ckxTGXpricing may be comparable to my previous amd build, but incompatabilities with intel is rediculous, worked with what i could/what was available..
...IMO.. the amd build i did would out preform this intel any day.. but thats just me..
compatable ram for intel has almost double the CAS latency as it did for my amd build., but around 800mhz faster processing speed
core of the cpu has a higher nm, less cache per core/less speed frequency
i dont know.. doesnt seem like many are trying to build you a solid rig for photo editing/gaming..
You are aware you're comparing DDR3 and DDR4 ram right? DDR4 has higher bandwidth than DDR3 even though it has higher latency. DDR4 is also lower voltage and runs cooler. There is an overall performance increase with memory intensive applications when switching from DDR3 to DDR4. But the timings and latency are higher on DDR4 so I must not know what I'm talking about.
The 5930k > FX 9590 any day of the week. Clock speed isn't everything. The 9590 is just a massively overclocked 8350. Also not sure if you know this, but it also doesn't actually have 8 physical cores (hint: it only has 4) while the 5930k does, in fact, have 6 physicals cores that are multithreaded. Not even sure why you brought up the cache since, in a real world setting, has very little impact on performance. Newer lithography processes are better than the older ones too. Smaller lithography means more transistors in less surface area. Smaller litho means less power. Less power means less heat (per transistor). Intem also executes instructions more efficiently than AMD. Lets not forget that intel has higher single core performance than AMD FX chips (which has a larger impact on games).
The only thing AMD wins on is price, but you get what you pay for. Maybe you should try educating yourself before you try to give people advice on things you clearly know nothing about. Stop just staring at numbers.
