best AMD setup i could come up with.. i'll have an intel one shortly.. ( as for the case you desire.. its sold out everywhere; so pcpartpicker is showing incompatablility error because of that)

e/ also just found this... benchmark testing for cpu's vs photoshop cs6: http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/core-i7-4770k-haswell-review,3521-13.html

builds should be around the processor and vid card(s) esentially..

... and as for intel being "new tech" its really not worth their pricing for the VERY LITTLE advancement in each step.. AMD remains cheaper and yes is classified as "old tech" to most, but far more stable, better fsb, cache, and overall performance stability imo. yes i am an AMD fan, and have been since the initial stages of AMD back at the 186/286/386mhz cpu's. I currently run a 8320 overclocked to 4.5ghz, and the processor has chewed everything up ive thrown at it and spat it out with no problems.. i also do photo editing, music composition, dj, and video editing, and game on my rig..

Prices change daily if not hourly during the silly season. Best to post 1-2 days before you are ready to buy.

intel build finally.. ( sorry 6 month old son needed my attention more than a build )..

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/ckxTGX

pricing may be comparable to my previous amd build, but incompatabilities with intel is rediculous, worked with what i could/what was available..

...IMO.. the amd build i did would out preform this intel any day.. but thats just me..

compatable ram for intel has almost double the CAS latency as it did for my amd build., but around 800mhz faster processing speed
core of the cpu has a higher nm, less cache per core/less speed frequency

i dont know.. doesnt seem like many are trying to build you a solid rig for photo editing/gaming..

Definitely this. Anything AMD has out right now can't compete with Intel.

6700k no less than shits on the 8350, for example.

I wouldn't even consider 8350 an 8 core.

You are aware you're comparing DDR3 and DDR4 ram right? DDR4 has higher bandwidth than DDR3 even though it has higher latency. DDR4 is also lower voltage and runs cooler. There is an overall performance increase with memory intensive applications when switching from DDR3 to DDR4. But the timings and latency are higher on DDR4 so I must not know what I'm talking about.

The 5930k > FX 9590 any day of the week. Clock speed isn't everything. The 9590 is just a massively overclocked 8350. Also not sure if you know this, but it also doesn't actually have 8 physical cores (hint: it only has 4) while the 5930k does, in fact, have 6 physicals cores that are multithreaded. Not even sure why you brought up the cache since, in a real world setting, has very little impact on performance. Newer lithography processes are better than the older ones too. Smaller lithography means more transistors in less surface area. Smaller litho means less power. Less power means less heat (per transistor). Intem also executes instructions more efficiently than AMD. Lets not forget that intel has higher single core performance than AMD FX chips (which has a larger impact on games).

The only thing AMD wins on is price, but you get what you pay for. Maybe you should try educating yourself before you try to give people advice on things you clearly know nothing about. Stop just staring at numbers.

I'm pretty sure he's trolling lol
making y'all write tl'dr's
i mean he did straight up say the 9590 outperforms 5930k
